Sean and Jo’s wedding service was held in St Mary the Virgin Church in Henbury, Bristol.  The  Grade II listed structure was built in the 13th century with restoration work later carried out in the 19th century by the Gothic Revival architects Thomas Rickman and George Edmund Street. St Mary’s is a really lovely little church, located in the heart of Henbury village.  The church provided an exquisite background for the lovely service, which included a heart warming gospel performance.

The after wedding festivities took place not far away at Kings Weston House.  Kings Weston House is a Grade 1 listed building that was completed in 1719 and designed by Sir John Vanbrugh, who also designed Blenheim Palace.  The house boasts a plethora of 18th-century features, including magnificent ceilings, marble fireplaces, and a stunning suspended central staircase.  It is elegant and characterful, yet retains the charm of a lived-in and loved family home.

The wedding breakfast was taken in the Vanbrugh room, a delightfully bright and airy space, perfect for such an event.  The wedding breakfast comprised an amazing array of sandwiches and cakes of the quality you might expect if you were taking tea at the Ritz.  After the (superb) meal and speeches, guests retreated to the Oak Room and Great Hall, where the rather energetic dancing and festivities began.  An amazing night had by all.
