Telling your stories through stunning documentary wedding photography
My approach to documentary wedding photography is calm, considered, and unobtrusive. I work in a friendly and relaxed way, but my focus is always on allowing the day to unfold naturally rather than directing or interrupting it. I’m there to observe, anticipate, and quietly document what happens, capturing genuine moments as they naturally occur throughout the day.
I photograph weddings using a documentary style, which means focusing on real interactions, emotion, and connection rather than staged or forced moments. The laughter during speeches, a reassuring hand squeeze before the ceremony, or a quiet moment away from the crowd — these are the moments that often matter most, and they can’t be recreated or planned. My aim is to capture your wedding day as it truly felt, not as a photoshoot.
Alongside this documentary approach, I also include a small amount of relaxed, natural portraits and family photographs. These are kept simple and unforced, with gentle guidance where needed, so they never feel awkward or time‑consuming. This balance of storytelling and lightly guided portraits allows you to enjoy time with your guests while still coming away with photographs that you’ll want to frame and share with family.
Over the years, couples have often told me they barely noticed I was there on the day — which I take as the highest compliment. My role is to help you feel at ease, confident that everything important is being captured, without adding pressure or distraction.
Below is a selection of images from real weddings I’ve photographed. Together, they show how I work and the kinds of moments I look for — honest, unposed, and full of meaning. I hope they give you a sense of how your own wedding day might be documented and enjoyed.
